A valid point even without even getting into personal political feelings. It is difficult to argue that there hasn't been a significant expansion in the scope of the president's authority. Does this increase in executive power over the past years extend to that position's ability to affect comprehensive environmental policy? If so, will the increased power remain intact after the departure of its architect?
